For the fourth year, Area X.O and the Government of Canada will co-host the epic next-gen technology demonstration showcase at Area X.O. In 2024, the event achieved great results, actionable impact and great industry engagement. Check out our 2024 event infographic here.

For 2025, the pioneering Canadian next-gen technology tech demo showcase, now called GCXpo, will take place on September 24, 2025. In partnership with the Government of Canada and event sponsors, GCXpo will bring together more than 70 Canadian companies to host live technology demonstrations at Area X.O. GCXpo will create an exclusive opportunity for invited guests to experience the power and impact of cutting-edge Canadian technologies, including many preparing for global markets.

GCXpo 2025 will allow invited guests, delegations and media to access our secure site by shuttle bus to experience the demonstrations and exhibits on their own or through guided tours.

Communitech EY Zone – Powered by Innovation & Defence 

Co-hosted by Communitech and Invest Ottawa and proudly sponsored by EY, this zone is at the core of the Defence Innovation Zone at Area X.O.
